OAK FROM RUSSIA (species Quercus Sensiliflora). It comes from the Carpathian forests (Ukraine) bordering Poland and Hungary. It has a fine-grained structure, similar to that of French Allier oak. It is a wood with powerful, very balsamic aromatic aldehydes. Its strong personality makes it ideal for ageing wines that are very complex in themselves, such as the Priorat wines, or for wines from very old vines that exhibit great concentration.
